Well, I finished the final instalment of Harry Potter only about 20mins ago.  It is such a great relief to have finished it and I don’t think I could be more satisfied with the ending.  I agree with what Rowling said – it really does finish the whole story very nicely.  The only other time a story has finished so much my way was Life on Mars, which felt so extremely satisfying that I could hardly believe it even existed but this feel like so much more than that.  Having been given so long to read and re-read the books getting to know and love these characters the ending just felt so right.  I’m just so pleased

Similarly now I feel I can go back to doing things I normally do which I had put on hold to make sure that I didn’t collide with any spoilers. I don’t think I can do anything but be pleased at the moment.

The site I mentioned I was working on in a previous post is still being worked on albeit more slowly. The actual news is that I decided to buy hosting and a domain for pretty dirt cheap from tengun.net and go daddy respectively. Go daddy are having a sale on .info domains so I grabbed tehdurka.info for about £0.64 in total for a year. I don’t really think you can get a better deal than that. Hosting equates to about £1.04 per month with PHP and MySQL although register_globals is off so I have to change quite a lot of code to make it work properly but at the same time it makes my code better and more secure so its all good really. I reckon that it costs a lot more than £1.04 a month just to leave my computer on during the day (electricity costs) so it seems like a very good deal for me and it means the site will always be online and working at a good speed so its good for the users as well.

I might see if I can get some Google adsense going to pay these little costs, I dunno whether they would accept me though. I also would like to revamp the site both visually and code wise but I’m going to put most of that off till after my exams since I’ve been told teachers go very easy on us for the remainder of the term. I also ought to do some more university research as well and try and pick out some more places to apply to, I’d like to feel ready by the time it comes to writing personal statements etc. I also need to go on some open days but they tend to be during the holidays so I can’t do that yet.

Ok that really is it for today, I seem to have gone a bit overdrive for some reason.

We went (me and friends) to see Spider-man 3 on sunday. Overall I thought it was really quite a good film.  The action was top notch and the effects worked very well, the battles were fast paced and on pretty big scales. There was also good storyline and drama with strong underlying messages. More of a surprise was the humour, actually. There were lots of bits where it was actually very funny and I enjoyed that, I like a good bit of humour. It hasn’t been getting the greatest reviews, I’ve seen people complaining about the cheesiness but actually I quite liked it, it was pretty entertaining. Overall my opinion is pretty useless but I did enjoy it so…err…there we go. One thing I did find funny was that all the characters seem to be able to circumvent the physics of free fall, it took them a loooong time to fall. Either that or the gravity on this earth is much weaker than ours.

I really enjoyed the first one from this guy, really great tower defence game and I think he’s done it again. This new one has a different idea, with the creeps having no target to get to but you have to stop them from overrunning the area by keeping their numbers below 100. I got to like level 52, nothing special really. You can play it here.
